About TuneGuitar and our editorial method

TuneGuitar guide · Updated 6 October 2026 · How we prepare our guides

TuneGuitar is a browser-based guitar tuner designed by Web Vibes. It combines reference tones, on-device pitch detection and practical setup guides. The purpose is to help a player choose the right notes, hear them and check the instrument without installing software or creating an account.

How the guides are prepared

We distinguish three kinds of information. Note frequencies, capo transpositions and string-change tables are calculated from explicit note targets in equal temperament. Song targets come from the named arrangements linked on each page, with their recorded check dates. Practice advice and explanations are written for TuneGuitar and its controls, using software-assisted drafting and calculation. The site does not claim an independent musician has reviewed every guide.

A linked transcription establishes what that source says about a particular part. It does not prove that every studio, live or acoustic version uses the same setup. Missing capo information is labelled as unverified. We retain part differences rather than replacing them with one universal answer. Song names identify the relevant works; this site does not reproduce their tablature, lyrics or recordings and is not endorsed by the artists.

What has been tested

Our software tests use known generated signals and simulated browser interactions. Those tests are useful for regression checks, but do not certify a physical microphone, guitar or room. The accuracy tool lets you make a local comparison with an independent reference you supply. The experimental strum check remains explicitly experimental. We publish these limits alongside the tools rather than presenting a universal accuracy guarantee.
