Check your intonation.

Compare one open string with the same string pressed at fret 12. Remove your capo and mute the other strings.

Press just behind fret 12 with normal pressure. Do not play a harmonic. Repeat the comparison to confirm the result.

Check your six strings.

A BETTER GUITAR SETUP

Make a list for the music you are playing

Open Setlists, give your list a name and search the song catalogue. Add songs or save the exact guitar setup currently open in the tuner. Each entry keeps its tuning, capo position, concert pitch and reference sound.

Spot the changes between songs

Move songs up to reorder the session. The list marks tuning and capo changes so you can prepare between pieces. Open in tuner loads the selected entry and brings its tuning into view without starting the microphone. For custom tuning, every string target travels with it.

Share a practice plan

A shared link contains a readable copy of the list. The recipient can review it before saving a separate copy. Lists stay in the browser where they are saved; updates do not sync across devices. Keep a share link if you want a backup.

Group by targets, not by artist

Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are and Heart-Shaped Box use three different stored Nirvana setups. Group identical note sequences when you want fewer tuning changes, then decide whether the musical order justifies the remaining moves. A common artist is not a guarantee of a common tuning.

Share a snapshot deliberately

The link contains a copy of the list. Later edits do not update another person's saved version. Send a new link if the order or targets change. This browser holds up to ten lists of thirty entries; clearing its site data removes them. A capo change is stored separately from open tuning and should not be mistaken for six peg adjustments.

Using this tuning tool

Does opening a setlist entry start the microphone?

No. It loads that entry’s tuning, capo and other saved settings. Start listening yourself when you are ready, then verify the guitar before the song. Loading a setup does not establish that the physical strings match it.

Does a shared setlist update when I reorder my original?

No. The link contains a copy of the list at the time it was shared. Share a new link after changes. A recipient’s saved copy remains separate, so it can be adapted without editing your own list.

What should I save before clearing my browser data?

Keep share links for lists you want to retain. The saved lists live in this browser, and clearing site data can remove them. Open a backup link to review its contents before relying on it for a rehearsal.

Privacy & cookies

Your guitar audio is processed entirely on your device. We do not record it, store it or upload it.

Saved guitars, setlists and your ping preference are stored in this browser on this device. You can delete each guitar in “My guitars”. Clearing site data removes these settings and the offline cache. The offline cache contains the tuner’s pages and the code that generates reference tones, never microphone recordings.

Google Analytics (G-G2RC12Y00X) loads only after you accept analytics cookies. It measures visits and usage; microphone audio is never sent to Google. Use Cookie settings in the footer to accept or withdraw consent. Analytics cookies and your choice last up to six months. Advertising uses separate consent settings. The hosting service may process routine connection data to deliver and secure the site.

This site includes the Google AdSense publisher tag. It contacts Google to connect this site to AdSense and load any consent messages published for the site. Advertising is subject to Google’s review and the publisher’s ad and consent settings. Analytics consent does not grant advertising consent. When Google’s advertising consent message is available, use Ad privacy settings in the footer to revisit it. No microphone audio is shared with AdSense.
